Jim Carrey did an interview on Letterman a few months ago to promote I Love You Phillip Morris. After they played the clip, Jim clapped enthusiastically for 30 seconds. It was amazing! I watch it periodically just to cheer myself up. I couldn’t animate the whole clip into something Tumblr-sized, so here’s one, plus a few on my Flickr: 01 | 02 | 03 | 04. Clapping is fun!
The interview, if you’re interested, can be watched here: Part 1 | Part 2.
He did this to mock the audience and furthermore to mock their expectation of him being ‘the funny guy’. Jim Carey was pissed off at the audience. He was pissed off with the interview on the whole from the moment that Letterman asked him a question regarding playing a homosexual which he perceived to be homophobic. The fact that somebody watched this and thought it was him having a good happy fun time actually shocks me.
I hate watching actors in uncomfortable situations in real life, especially because of annoying interviewers. Reblogging this so I can watch it later and feel bad. Poor Jim.
